The value of imports from the Britiih
American colonies, ui the year ending Sept.
30, 1824, was 5705,931, of which <15,^34
were hi foreign vessels. The value in 1 25,
was 610,788, of which 523,410 were in forcigu
vessels.
The value of exports to the BritUli West
Indies in the year fin?t above imincd, was
51,750,70s, of whieh 5119,180 were in fo
reign vessels. The value of exports to those
colonies in l? 2i, was 11,633,574, of which
5120,If6 were m foreign vessels. The
value of exports to the British North Ame
rican Colonies in U?24, was 51,773,107, of

The aggregate amount of imports from the
British West India and North American
Colonies in 1824, was 53,463,998, of which

Mr. Webster is the renreaentatlve of the
aristocracy of il.i>ton. Tho praiac that has
been lavlimcd upon him for years past, has
blinded all the rcpul?licaua of that city into
hia favor. The Boston aristocracy own many
woollen manufactoriea in Massachusetts.?
Mr. Webster therefor? finds it convenient
to change iila principles so us to please his

With regard to the present bill we are
glad of hia support, although it la at the ex
pense of his principles. But the latter is a
matter for the adjustment of hto own con

i the prudence to be silent on'the bill, but to
quiet hia conatltuenta, he haa voted in favor
oi it at every vote. Of course Mr. Everett
must follow suit.
The legialatnre of Virginia have elected
