riage that created much sensation
was that of Miss Ethel Ackerman, of
Cottageville. and Mr. I^turie A.
Weeks, of St. George.
The marriage which took place on
Sunday afternoon. January 26 at 2
o’clock at the home of the bride’s
parents. Mr and Mrs.* >E. M. Acker,
man. was a very quiet affair; only
the family and a few Intimate
friend* being present. The bride
was handsomely gowned in a travel
ing suit of blue broad cloth with
hat to (natch. She had only one at.
tendant. her maid of honor. Miss
Annie Lee Ackerman, sister of the
bride, who was daintily gowned In
nary blue silk.
The groom had for his best man
Mr. Watson Risher, of St. George.
They marched in to the strains of
Mendelshon’s wedding march which
was rendered softly by Mrs. G. E.
Ackerman. aiaterJn-law to the bride.
After the ceremony which wa.»
performed by Rev. Covington, of
Cottageville, ambrosia and cak**
were served.
The bride is the charming daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Ackerman,
and will be greatly missed by all
who know her. Being of such - *~
sweet disposition she will make many
friends at her new home. The groom
is one of St. George's business meu
and he and the bride have all the
good wishes of their many friends
and relatives. They go to make
their future home in St. George.
