at the home of Mrs.. C. C, Jllott'
Quite a number of ladies had ’gatit*
ered for the demopstration and
listened to tt\e discussions with in
terest. We were glad they brought
the babies, since the subject of the
September program Is ^lood fo^
Mothers and Rabies. • There should
be good resnltS from the work tot
the club at Bethlehem since thero
are so many Energetic and inteHb
gent womcn-ip the commiinity. We
heartily appreciate the reception
they gave the new representative of
demonstration work, and feel that
we shall enjoy working with tjiem.
The girls of the canning club also
discussed their work ii^ a very in
teresting way I
The meeting at Stokes was poor
ly -attended-om gecuuiii of tl mUuB'
derstanding -as to the time of meet

eral Of the active, members. We
hope Stokes will make a better
-showing on our next visit.
The meeting st Red Bank was
not held on. account of the death of
Mr. Remley in the community.
However, the Red Bank people
promise co-operatipn and evidence
a great, interest in canning, etc.
When we visited Roadside we' had
the pleasuro of'attending the revival
services the Rev. Mr. Grahan|: was
carrying * on in • Pleasant Grove
church, and also .of meeting the pas
tor,^Rev. Walter Black, and^a nom-
her of the people of the community.
’;The Roadside people impressed ns
! with thei? . genial hospitality, aad
spoke words of commendation of
| the former demonetfation agent.
Also, they encouraged us in the
work.
The demonstration at Cottage-
ville will be given on Tuesday af
ternoon; the 10th, and at Ruffin, on
the 11th. A conference in Colom
bia calls us sway .from the county
the latter part of the week, hence
the other club meetings for the
week will have to be postponed. x
