Conferences of packers, where prices
have been discussed, have been held at
the urgent request anld in the presence
of representatives of either the Food
Administration or the Council of National
Defense. And yet the packers have been
accused of committing a felony by acthv

We have done our best, with other
packers, large and small, to comply with
the directions of the United Food
Administration in all particulars, tnrlmttng
the furnishing of food supplies for the U.S.
Army and Navy and the Allies, now be
ing handled through the Food Adminis

We will continue to do our utmostyUn-

production and assist the Food Adminis

to co-operate whole-heartedly and to our
fullest powers with this branch of the
Government is our plain and most press

correspondence taken from our private
files and read into the Record, a false and

of creating antagonistic public opinion.
The services of the packers of the
United States are most urgently needed,
and I regret exceedingly that We should at
this time have to spend our efforts In
defending ourselves against unfounded,
unproved, and unfair assertions such as
are being daily made public.

Suffer Terribly With Corns Because
of High Heels, lint W»y
Care Now? - ’
Women wear high heels which
buckle up their toes and they suffer
terribly from corns. Women then
proceed to trim these pests, seeking
relief, but the\ hardly realize the
terrible danger from infection, says
a Cincinnati authority.
Corns cap easly be lifted out with
the fingers If you will get from
any drug store a quarter of an ounce
of a drug called freezone. This is
sufficient to remove every hard or
soft corn or callous from one’s feet.
You simply apply a few drops di
rectly upon the tender, aching corn
or callous. The soreness is relieved
at once and soon the entire-corn or
callous, root and all, lifts out with
out one particle of pain.
TMs freezone is a sticky substance
i*-’''"’! dries In a moment. It.jhst
shrivels up the corn without inflam
ing or even irritating the surround
ing tissue or skin. Tell your wife
about this.
