There ha^ * been some changes In
the law, and these changes will
serve to assist in the enforcement of
the laws. The law as sow written
Is the most drastic ever adopted,
and there will be little leniency
shown those who violate Its pro
visions. The section of the law
changed follows;
Section t. Iffiat the State Veter
inarian or any live stock inspected
appointed by him Is hereby author-
lied to give written notice to any
person, firm or corporation owning,
possessing or controlling any live
stock which may be found infested
or infected with, or exposed to. the
carrier or carriers sf infectious,
contagious or communicable dla-
eases, or any barns, sheds, yards or
* fields which are capable of coaver-
Ing the said infection or contagion,
to disinfect the same, or have the
same disinfected within live days
from the service of such notice; and
if any person, firm or corporatloa
shall refuse or neglect for five days
from the service of such notice to
disinfect such animals, live stock or
premises in the manner and method
and at such times that such written
notice may specify, the said person,
firm or corporation shall be gutltr
of a misdemeanor, and. upon con
viction thereof, shall be liable to a
fine of not leas than ten dollars nor

you to '

—and puts you on your honor.
Now the Government isn't
asking you to deny yourself good
eating, but merely to cook in a
slightly different way. In a word,
to stop short in the use of lard
and butter in your cooking and
use vegetable fats instead.
y
w
In the production of the
needed vegetable fats the country
is well equipped. Already mill
ions of pounds of pure, whole
some and nourishing vegetable
fats are produced and used each
year. Cottolene is a familiar
example.

In recommending vegetable
fats the Government does not

specify any particular product.
Cottolene, however, is well
known as a pure and wholesome
vegetable shortening. Incident
ally, it gives delicious cooking
results.
