Stokes. Feb. 19.—Stokes graded
school is progressing nicely under
management of Miss Ida Mae
Fishburne and Miss Eula Ackerman.
The school gave a valentine so
cial for the benefit of the school
which was quite a success. There
were different games and a dot
ing contest and a c&ke which was
furnished by Mrs. G. Albeit Beach,
and was voted off to the most popu
lar girl. Miss Katie Hiers being th-?
winner. The cake brought $51.96,
and tho total raised was S6S.90.
HUDSON MILL SCHOOL
There will be an entertainment
and box party at Hudson Mill
school on Feb. 23. A unique, pat
riotic program has been arranged
by the teachers. Prof. W. 8. Price
and Miss Constance Rape. It will
be interesting and at the same time
furnish lots of fun and pleasure.
