Miss Estelle Herndon will *be real
glad when canning season ' is over,
as she will have the opportunity of
getting a little rest.
Misses Lillie and Roberta Jones
made a flying trip to Smaoks Tues
day morning.
Miss Hattie Jones seems to be
doing pretty good work these days
with the Goodrich Drug Co. She
left Tuesday morning for Lake City
and w ill be away about Tour weeks
longer, when she will come home
and get ready to go to college.
• Misses Pernell Crosby and Em
mie Jones are doing good work in
their music this summer.'■ They
must like Miss Jones fine for their
teacher, when they say they wish
she could teach them all the time.
Misses Blanche and Reba Jones
have just returned home from a
visit to Bamberg, Orangeburg and
Norway, whete they have been vis
iting friends and school-mates, and
they report a very pleasant, time
while away. Most especially Tues
day afternoon as they came through
the country in a car. They were
accompanied by their friends. Mr.
Phillips and Mr, Bolten, of Norway.
Misses Rosa and Lida !)lyers have 1
been very , busy the past few days
canning tomatoes, and they think
they wiH have plenty to eat this
winter. . .
