Mrs. .%. W. Strickland.
Mrs. Corrie I. Halford-Strickland
departed this life November first, af-
t.er an illness of only a .few hours,
at her home near WillKims, at
about ten o’clock p. m. She leaves
to mourn her departure three chil
dren. two boys and one girl, hus
band. father and mother, four sis
ters and one brother. The whole,
conimunity was shocked at her sud
den and untimely death. Her lit
tle girl^*Catheline. died last August.'
Mrs. Strickland was born Jan 11,
l»M.-at-W-a!t«rbe*Ov Sh* was-ihe
eldest daughter of Rev. and Mrs.
B. F. Halford, now of Norway. 1 On
the tenth day of January, 1909, she
was married to A. W. Strickland, of
Williams, at which place she re
sided till her' death. She was In
deed a lovely character. She unit
ed with the Bedons Baptist church
when she 1 was only about 15 years
of age, and she lived a consilient
f hrlst'an life. She was neveC<
known to Apeak unkindly of any
one, and all who knew her loved
her because of her sweet disposition.
She always had an encouraging
word for all she met.
She will be gryatly juissod from
her community, as well as from htr
home. She war. preparing to visit
her parents at Norway when she
was taken ill. and looked forward
to the visit with much pleastur*. as
did her parents: hut God saw fit to
take her to His home, and wo all
how in humble submission to His
divine w-yi. Her remains were laid
beside he.” little girl in the family
cemetery near Williams in the pres
ence of a host of sorrowing rela
tives and .frieros.
Sleep on our dear Corrie, and
take your rest:
Wy loved thee, but Jesus loved thee
X
As Job of old. we can only sav.
the Lord giveth, and the Lord
taketh. and blessed he the name of
the Lord. We know that her trials
are needed, and we believe that her
rest is won; for she was faithful to
her tmst even unto death. And we
know that earth has no sorrow that
Heaven . cannot heal. And wo feel
that her memory, shall ever be a
guiding star to Heaven. \
We all hope to so live as she did.
spotless in this life, and meet Iter
over there where all is love. \
