Several, citizens of the Little
Swamp and Berea section of upper
Colleton were in town Saturday and
reported a movement which has
taken definite shape to cut off a
small area of the Little Swamp
school district and annex (t to Bam
berg county. It is reported that the
proposed territory embraces an area
of about 1 1-2 miles by 3 miles, and
contains about 16 voters. It ia said
that there has been considerable
friction in this school district over
school affairs, and a. recent elect
tion resulted in a manner not satis
factory' to some of those who desire
to cut ofi from Colleton. This and
other causes are said to be at the
root of the disaffection.
It is repprted that the survey of

which was run the latter part of th**
week by Surveyor Folk, is rather a
z.ig zag line, and u»t in or out cer

cause a .vacancy in one of the
legislators. John C Good wiu was

this section by a very flattering vote,

It is reported that another peti
tion is being circulated to include
the entire Uttle Swamp school dis
trict. It is also rumored that a con

this larger area are opposed to.any

school district, it is doubtful- if it
