P \ V mA TiTQ * 7 j for the very flattering vote given me
A CjO primary election held yester-
EXPRESS THANKS day. To get more votes in au elec
tion than any other man running is
an honor I shall always prize. To
friends most true who made this pos
sible I shall always feel under last
ing obligations. I fee! that this of.
flee opens up some new avenues for
service to my county, and the only
promise I shall make—dhe only
promise I made on the campaign—ts
to do my very best for my section of
the State In whatever rapacity I may.
This I expect to do.
But, great as is the responsibility
of the legislator, the regponslbllity
of the citizen is no less great. N<>
man can bring about worthy legisla^
tion. nor enact wise laws for govern
ing a people, unless he have the peo.
pie with him. This is why I appre
ciate very much the large number of
votes received, for no matter what
comes up 1 shall feel that I am legis
lating for my friends, and I fee! Just
as friendly towards those who voted
against me as to those who support
ed me. \ .
I^t us all think of our problems,
and when that meeting Is called for
the first Monday in December, com -
down with a plan well mapped out
for proper laws for the county.
Gratefully.
W. W. SMOAK.
