A marriage which came a:- a sur
prise to their many friends was that
of Mi?s Essie Bryant, of Walterboro, _
and Mr. W. W. Carter. Jr., of Ruf- |
in. Mr. Carter came to Walterboro
Wednesday afternoon and took Miss
Bryant to ride, going as far as Hen
dersonville, where they derided to
hgte Rgr. Knight, pastor of th*
Methodist church, perform the rer- 1
emony. They returned to Ruffin af
terwards. whgre they will make their
home. Miss Bryant Is a popular ladv
of Walterboro, where she has made
many friends. Mg. Carter is a son
of Mr. aad Mrs. W. Carte- of
Ruffin, and is a young business man
of ability. The best wishes of their
many friends go with theta in their
