For thr nrcoad timr within a
period of three months. King Al
fonso XIII of Spain has shown his
preference for American built au
tomobiles by purchasing his second
Willys-Knight louring car from'
The Wlllys-Overland Company of
Toledo. Ohio. This latest ordef
from Ills Majesty i« significant in
▼lew of the fact that only a few dars
elapsed between the arrival of his
first Willys-Knight and the Issuing
of instructions to duplicate the
shipment at the earliest possible mo
ment.
‘‘Repeat" orders from foreign buy
ers reach the Overland factory with
almost every mall. This In Itself is
not unusual as the moderate priced
Toledo product Is sold In practically
every civilised city In the world. The
quantity production methods of
manufatcurer which are responsible
for this country taking the lead In
•the automobile Industry ha"' en
abled a few of the larger American
producers of high grade cars to sell
cars abroad, the price of which can
not be equalled by the small Euro
pean manufacturer.
In fact the price feature of Ameri
can bu U cars has generally been be
lieved . . be the only reason why
foreign ' ’ivera take them In prefer
ence to i’telr own home products.
But when one of the crowned heads
of Europe, like the King of Spain,
buys two Willys Knights Ipls q»lt^
obvious fhat the price Ifas nothing
to do with his choice. His great
wealth would enable him to fill any
number of garages with the highest

What The Doctor Knows
KIONKYH MI HT HK HHIHT TO IX-
Hl'KK HKAIiTH
Few people realize to what extent
thefir health depends upon the con
dition of. the kidneys.
The physician In nearly all cases
of serious Illness., makes a chemical
analysis of the patient's urine. He
know a that unless the kidneys are
doing their work properly, the oth
er organs cannot readily be brought
back to health and strength.
When the kidneys are neglected
or abused in any way. serious re
sults are*sure to follow. According
to health statistics. Bright's Disease,
which D really an advanced form of
kidney trouble, caused . nearly ten
thousand deaths in one year, in the
State of New York alone. There
fore. it is particularly neecssary to
pay more attention to the health of
these important organs.
An ideal herbal compound that has
had remarkable success as a kidney
remedy is Dr Kilmer’s Swamp-Root
the great kidney, liver and bladder
remedy. ; • ' .
The mild and healing influence of
this preparation, in most cases. Is
soon realized, according to sworn
statements and verified testimony of
those who have used the remedy.

Taylor. “It is a wonderful remedv.
I never knew of anything like’It "

After stating that she could heart

"My daughter suffered from a

After (iovemment Plans.
All of the above construction
work has been done with the plan**
made by the Tolled State Govern

opened a width of thirty feet, grad

repaired. .Cattseways have been,
widened and many new ones built.
In building the new Toads particu

location of curve/«. and tn many
cases they are as low as ten degress,
never exceeding sixty. Roads have
been straightened wherever possible-
and better locations secured. After
a road is completed the contract Is
given to some reliable farmer to
maintain a section of four miles of
it. It is his duty fo drag it with the
split-log drag after rains, keep ditch
es open and fill all holes. These
contracts have been let along all of
the new roads.
Commissioner Moore has several
crews at work at different • places.
The, regular chain gang, under the
direction of Mr. P. M. Rurkner is
at work on 'the Hampton Walter

Foreman Minnis Avant. is at work
on the Barnwell 'road at Wlllow

of the construction forces under Mr.
Lee Jones. Mr. L. H. Zeigler is
foreman of the construction force
now working on the Smoaks road
in Warren township. ^Mr. A. M.
Francis is foreman of the hridg"
foace. which repairs and rebuilds
bridges over the entire county.
Taxes Not Increased.
With such an organization many
miles of new roads have been con

necessary to borrow some money,
tht* levy has not been raised. Th**
programme as outlined contemplates
that in less than two years more ex
cellent natural dirt roads will lend

most remote districts of the county.
