April SO.— The eighth school term at Peniel eloaed on Friday evening. The arhool building was unable to hold the people. Prof. E. H. Carpetiter, graduate of the Cnlveraity of South Carolina, has had the achool under hig man agement. with Mrs. H. M. Trowell. as his first assistant. The achool has had a splendid session and every one is delighted that the trustees were so fortunate as to secure the ser vices of both of these able teachers. Prof. Carpenter, though without ex perience. has fnade for himself a splendid reputation as a principal. Mrs. Trowell. with several years of •experience, has arlso convinced the comrtfunity of her marked ability. The program was in its simplicity beautifully carried out. With the recognized fact, one present could easily see that both Prof. Carpenter and Mrs. Trowell had spared no ef fort In training the children for the final events. • Prof. Carpenter was asked If he would stand for re-election, but he stated that with the term so short apd the salary so small' he would not. Whether Mrs. Trowell will stand for re-election or not Is not known. Feeling most confident, however, should she permit her name to be used she would be re-elected. Prof. Carpenter left Monday for his home in. Charleston. He has made many friends here who will regret to see him leave. 9100 REWARD, 9100 The readers of this paper will be pleased to learn that there is aa least one dreaded disease that selen(' > bas been able to cure in all its stages, and that is catarrh.
