Bonds.
, The committee on roads hnd the
grand Jury, on * whole, has looked
well into the condition of the roads
and the affairs surrounding the ex
penditure i>f the county money with
respect to road building and ^Ind
the books and accounts in the High,
way Commissioner’s office in excel
lent condition and well ijept. We
find, further, that the roads are. in
general, in passable condition and
'that there has h a en some very good
and' perma-ne.nl ’ work done by the
roatl authorities, especially -on the
road leading from, \N*alterboro to
Jacksot\boro ’and from Walterboro-
to Hendersonville and Sniders, also
a great deal of permanent work has
"been dope on the Saint George road.
We especially comniend the High,
wipy Commissioner and his assistants
in-their efforts to build permanent
roads and we urge the people, as n
whole, not to criticize the expend!^
dure of money when it is going for
such a worthy purpose, and w : e urge
the people to stand to |he authori
ties In this respect. \Yfe would rec
ommend and specfally urge Ahat the
delegation from Callclon. County in
the Legislature prrsent to the peo
ple. as early ay practicable, an Is.

We have looked into the liookrt
and records of the different magis
tral, s and ffnd everything regular.

find that Mr. L. E. Hill did not pre
vent his books for examination at
this time. The committee on office
