relt that we were at all dsirous of
having beer served. Had the plan
to have a beer reception - gone
through, "e doubt if a half dozen

partaken. We were not out to have

pose of bMMing the fair. We did
meet oji the streets quite a uui .Uer-
of citizens of St. Ueorge and of
Dorchester county, and we felt ihat

So we ask the editor of The
Eagle,- and the good citizens of St.
George to» forget the matter and
orae on over to the fair. Remem-

you to go to that trouble. But it is
worth while. If ever/one took that
view of it. how many exhibits would

W. L. Utaey, of Round, was among
those in town Saturday. Mr. Utsey
was engaged in filling orders for
pew cane syrup, of which he makes
i most delicious kind. He stated
that he had ground two short rows
only 100 feet in length, and from
these he had sold enough ayrup to
buy A barrel of flour.' He wonders
if them,-is any other crop which cfcn
produce so much on so little ground.
