AND TWO OTHF.HS ItKST IN
JAIL TO AWAIT TUIAL
Sunday morning about 1.30 o clock
after having attended a dance given
by one Levy Folk. Kid Haynes shot
and killed Gussie Jones, using a t 38-
calibre pistol for the purpose.
Prom what could b* learned,
Haynes bad been haying things bis
say for a while and bad been run
out, or thrown out of Levy Folk s
house, after Laving been asked to re
main quiet. He then proceeded to
cut a swbll around the other negroes
at the dance. »It geeme that. Gusiie
Jones had interfered with him in
some way and they engaged in a
quarrel. Some say that Jones pro
ceeded home and returned with a
shot gan, coming back, be fired the
gun into- the air and as it seems,
lost one of the shells and was down
on the ground looking for it when
Havnes fired upon him twice, one
ball taking effect in the back of his
head and the other in his jghroat.
Both parties are colored.
Immediately after the shooting oc
curred. Chief of Police A. A. Patter
son. Jr., and Assistant Chief, Chris
topher Hoats went to the scene of
the murder and arrested Haynes,
lodging him in jail here. He will j
await trial presumably at the next
term of court, which will convene
on Monday. November If.th.
Ren Grant is also to ieM chsrged
with being an accessory. It is alleged
that Grant is a‘pal of Rhynes or.d

Is it possible thfere is a woman in this country who con
tinues to suffer without giving Lydia E., Pinkham’s Vege
table Compound a trial after all the evidence that is con
tinually being published, which proves beyond contradic
tion that this grand old medicine has relieved more suffer
ing among women than any other one medicine in the world ? ^
We have published in the new spapers of the United States
more genuine testimonial letters than have ever been pub
lished in the interest of any other medicine for women*—
and every year we publish many new testimonials, all gen
uine and true. Here are three never before published;
From Mrs". 5. T. Richmond, Providence, R. I. •
Providence, R. I.—“ For the of women who suffer as I h$v^
done I wish to state what Lydia E. Pinkhniu's Vegetable Compound
has done for me. I did some heavy lifting and the doctor said it
caused a displacement. 1 have always U^n weak and I overworked
after my baby was U*ni and intiammutioii set in, then nervous pros
tration, from which I did not rmtver until I had taken Lydia E. Pink-
ham's Vegetable CompoundL^. The (Yummund is my best friend and ,
when I hear of a woman witU*troubles like mini* I try to induce her
to take your medicine.”—Mrs. S. T. Richmond, t>4 Progress Avenue.
