This road was advertised as a con tinuation of the Bonsai line, but has L.-en taken over by the Seaboard, and it is believed work of construc ting the road will begin by Sept 1st: Pretty Cl*»te to Air Line. According o the survey, the Charleston Southern, ’ the Charles- ton-Savarnah Bn*.t, which will probably be built under the direc tion of Mr. Bonsai, wilt be almost air line. The air line distance be tween Charleston and Savannah Is plac'd at slightly more than eighty two miles and the survey indicates ‘ that the Charleston Southern will lx* eightv-five miles in length. The line will sart from the Y just beyond he t nion Station here and cross ne Ashley river at a'point a short llstance above Hampton park. It ill proofed in a southwesterly di- -X eelion to the Ed 1sto river, thence to the Combahee river, to Dale, to tjray’s Hall, where a spur track will be built te Beaufort, a distance of •about six miles to the east ward.
