The acting chairman, of tha Col
leton County Democratic Commit
tee has made public the fact tha*
not over fifty per cent of the quali
fied voters of Colleton county have
registered. The-Hiote’*!* fast darw-

that each and every man who wish
es to vote should go to his club sec
retary and register. Otherwise he
cannot expect to vote. The rules
strigtjy nuiuirj that the voter’s full
name be put on his home club roll
on or before the last Tuesday in
July, on which day the various club
roll books will be closed. Those
who do not register by that time
will without doubt let the opportu
nity to,qualify pass.
It has been rumored that some
men are so much displeased until
they are willing to forfeit their right
to' vote rathet tha n go and register
properly. They would stay at home
and grouch around, feeling that
they are spiting some one by falling
to vote. This is an errnoeous Idea
and Should not be entertained for

and unfair to the voter and appear
to be an usurpation of his right, the
principle upon which the voter must
work is to show that he hai- some
spirit and will triumph over tho dif

cratic Rotors of the state. Our prin
cipal of election in anvthing is that
the majority rules at alt times. Then
whv kick? It is no use to get sore
and do something that wil hurt
yourself and the candidate of your
choice and be Just what your oppo
nents want you to do.
