W, D. Bennett came near losing
his life and Jeff 8moak was badly
injured when a car driven by a lady
ran Into them at 8ev^n Mile Junc
tion. It seems that Messrs. Bennett.
Smoak and Rev. J. C. Lawson had
started from Charleston to their
home at Lodge and Jlad gotten as
far as Ashley Junction when they
had a blow-out in a tire. They had
stopped the csr and were repairing
the tire when a large automobile
