The Stockholders of the Colleton
County Pair Association met in the
office of W. B. Gruber. President, on
Saturday last for the transaction of
several matters relating to the As-
osciation and for the election pf of
ficers for the coming year.- The fol
lowing were elected officers: K. T.
H. Shaffer. Pres’tdenU J. O. Padgett.
1st vice President; M. H. Hiott. 2nd
vice President; J. D. Miley, 3rd vicet
President; R. M. Jefferies, secretary
and treasurer; H. D. Padgett, super
intendent; Paul Goodwin, superin
tendent of live stock. W J Taylor.
Supt. merchants and manufacturing
partment; C. J. Beach, superinten
dent poultry department; R. B.
Chisolm, superintendent of Negro de
department. All of the old directors
were re-elected.
The Fair Association has several
of its notes outstanding and other
fn<f<ibtedn>es8 .amounting to some
thing over $1,800. In order to pay
these it wis decided at the meeting
that a mortgage of the premises be
given and that all outstanding in
debtedness fee retired by this'method.
Much interest was shown in the
affairs of the Association and the
-coming fair will probably be the
best of all.

National Bank held th"ir annual meet
Ing in the rooms of the bank Tues
day. The report of the directors
was submitted and was received with
a gr n nt deal of satisfaction by the
Stockholders The report showed
that the bank had had a most pros
perous year and that the outlook for
the future is exceedingly bright. As
has already been published, the Stock
holders w^» paid a dividend of ^10
p r r cent, and a nice sura placed to
the surplus fund, the capital and
surplus now being $31,000.
