As we look upon the many possi
bilities which Smoaks has for a
bright future, there is one which
comes to my, mind x more strongly
than any other. That is the possi
bility of having a good High School.
We have a good school at Smoaks
now, but why can we not improve.
Why not consolidate a few districts
&nd raise our school from a Graded
School into a High School. It can be
done, ‘ »
. Let us not, however, get-the idea
feat it can be done by speech-mak
ing, newspaper articles, or by efforts
of one or two. We must begin at
'' home by all of the citizens of
Smoaks putting their shoulders to
the wheel a”nd by team work make
the school here such a success, that
It will serve as a neucleus to which
the outlying districts may be con
solidated of their own free will It
will cost money and work, but ther« »
no greater cause in which w»* (an

It be Religion and Religion is Educa

ZALIN sells the Best Goods Cheapest for the following
reasons:
1st—My 9 years’ experience in buying and selling in
sures you the benefit of a man who knows what he is do
ing. \
2nd—I know the trade and what the people want and
only buy what will sell. Thus I do n6t have to carry over
large stocks of goods from one season to another.
3rd—My expenses of store-keeping are reduced to the
minimum. Store keeping expense must be charged to the
goods which are sold. My wife and myself run my business
in my own store, next to the Postoffice, thus saving clerk
hire and rent and allowing us to give you the benefit.
Therefore, buy your goods from me, for I will save
you money. Before you buy your fall goods, call at mv
store, and I will take pleasure fn showing my handsome
line which I will sell at reasonable prices.
