^ MIlwaoKle, W’I a—The new Wis-
cap tin automobile law which has just
goasa fnto effect provides that every
eateiiv>hUe shall be equipped with
a aignlal device capable of producing
aa abrupt ,soaad aaflciently loud to
selva ae aa adequate warning of dan
ger.
The followlnf statement regarding
this law has been Issued by its au-
tbdr, Prealdent James T. Drought of
Wisconsin Bute Automobile Asso
ciation f
"This law win-enacted not only in
the Interests of automobile owners,
but fa tip interests of pedestrians,
and users of other vehicles, who
have a right to he seasonably and
sufficiently warned of Ihe approach
of automobiles ' ’
"With the din of noisy traffic on
city streets and in passing other au
tomobiles, proceeding the same direc
tion, msny hand bulb boms are en
tirely Ineffective, because they can
not be heard. With the present
statute in force I am of the opinion
that many if not all-hand bulb reed
boras in use are in direct violation
of the law. In cases of collisions'a ::J
resulting damage suits, -the question
of whether the automobile was
equipped with a lawful signaling de
vice which was used seasonably, may
establish the liability, of the auto
mobile driver or materially affec:
the site of the verdict.
"I believe the time is not far dis
tant when all automobile liability
insurance companies will compel
policy holders to discard the hand
bulb horn in favor Of some thing
more efTectivr~a» a matte:* of self
protection.”

We prefer fo sell 100 articles at a profit of ten cents
each,-rather than 10 articles at a profit of one dollar each.
It means just ninety more people patronizing our store.
Th^.only reason for our being in business is to do bus!**
