leton County waa the failure of the
Walterboro Grocery Company, a
company which was started only a
few weeks ago and one which prom
ised phenomenal successes. The stock
of goods, accounts, etc., were sold
out vesterday at auction, many of
the merchant! of the town and coun
ty buying goods at remarkably low
prices. It seems that this business
had every prospect of success, large
amounts of goods had been sold,
and several good accounts were out
standing on the books of the com

of this nature will be started again
