the father and moth/er of Walterboro.
we have ample weapons with wlj edi
to fight for home, for country, for
God. ami of these we will avail our
selves with all the vigor of our
heart and brain.
It is the old irrepressible conflict
over again between the grog-shop and
rlghteousne'ss; between beauty and
filth; between pleasant food jind
drink and carrion. It ft war to the
knife, and knife to the hilt, and only
one can win.
As it stands now we are down,
while the hosts of Satan are bravely
marching on. Why? Because we
have here a Paganism Ikbelled Chris
tian. The task, then, is to lift up a
Christian standard of law and order,
and overthrow the criminals who are
brazingly abrogating all law on the
liquor question; taking charge of the
community in tht face of helpless cit
izens and running their ' nefarious
busii^pt in defiance of event, princi
ple or right. In the name of com
mon decency. I protest against drun
kard making and debauchery. In the
name of the people of the church 1
represent, I protest against the ap
parent inactivity and supineness of
the sworn and salaried officer- of this
town, and ask them why ! s Cic liquor

only evil or special favorite' which
is to be accorch'd the liberty to make
its own laws and do as it pleases?

children for life's duties, for God and
for eternity. I wpuld like to ask

speak, is he not thus aiding in the
destruction of law, and where wfll be
