An unusually attractive pro ar am has been built, and speakers of note from all over the State will be heard. There will also be prominent speakers from a distance. Mr. W. C. Pearce, of Chicago, the Associated General Secretary of the Internation al Sunday School Association, and one of the best known Sunday school men in the world will be present and heard in s number of sdresses. Judge Joseph CarthsL of Nashville, Tenn., who is now the General Sec retary of the Tennessee Sunday School Association, will also be pres ent. This is the first time Judge '*arthel has appeared before the Sunday School workers of this State, and he will be heard with great pleasure. I The Convention proper will begin 0:1 Tuesday morning. Pageant Winthtop college is preparing an old Engltst pageant, which will be presented on the campus next May. in honor of Winthrop’s birthday. Practically the eatire student body will take part in the performance which will be on a scale of great magnificance. The pageant will pre sent the visit of Queen Elizabeth to the Earl of Leiaceotet*s at Keall worth and the sports by which the royal lady was entertained. C. ^/Next to Express Office Finish This Story WORKMAN in an I H C wagon fac tory was explaining the various stages of wagon construction to an interested visitor. He picked up two pieces of long leaf yellow pine, and asked the visitor to notice the difference in the weight of the two pieces. The lighter piece, he explained, was kiln-dried. The heavier piece was air-dried. It had retained the resinous sap which adds strength ami toughness, while in the kiln-dried piece of lumber this sap had been draw n out by the too rapid application of heat. The air- dried piece held up under nearly double the weight under which the kiln-dried piece of lumber broke.
