We began operation three years ago with only a few subscribers and now have forty-four We want every farmer, merchant and business man in the county to join us, as this is the only system in which the expenses rarely exceeds $5 each member per annum. Our assessment now is on:y 52.00 per annum. I think that the people of Hendersonville, Cottageville and, In fact, the whole county should organ ize into a co-operative leiephone sys tem. Our lines extend within three and half miles of Hendersonville. 1 wish to call your 'attention to an article in the Progressive Farm er of Jan. 4—written by D. E. Riser, of Leesville, S. C. It is as follows: “One of the greatest Improvements ever made in Saluda county began three years ago, when a few public spirited farmers met together to dis cuss some means of installing tele phones in their homes.
