A great deal has been said and written regarding the National Corn Exposition School for Boys to bo held In connection with the National Coin Exposition, Columbia, S. C., Jan. 28—February bla, 1913, but there are probably m-iuy people who at© not familiar with the details. The first question :o consider is what is this schooi to be? It ia to be a source of information and in- ^pirat.uii and at the sau© time an putmg for the prize winning boys pf the Boys’ Cora club of tho South. An effort is being mace to have ev ery county in each Southern State ■end the two boys making the beat records. These will be divided into squads and given Instructions by the experts In charge of the exhibits from the different statee. A pleasure trip to Charleston and a cruise arolind the points of Interest at the city has been planned, than giving, the boys an opportunity to see the historic place. At the close of the week’s achodl, the boys wilt be given diplo mas ar cetlficates showing that each hoy has taken fhe work prescribed. Oh the last night of the school, the city of Columbia will give a banquet to all the boys attending, where the toastmaster will be the boy holding the best record In the entire South. Here thsr will have an opportunity to meet boys from ell the Southern Statee and many of the northern as well. They will study the exhibiis of nil the states represented, thus getting direct information as to the products of States. The problems being worked out by different exper iment. stations will be stud ied and the importance of each prob lem stressed. These are only a very few of the things the boys will get from this school. The inspiration given tha boys here will be worth fully as much as a year’s work in the ordinary school. The school will be conducted along semi-military lines, members of the senior class of Cremson college acting aa officers. The school will be under' the direct charge of Mr. J. B. Hobdy an experienced man from Alabama. A regular scaedule will be made out and every boy expected to follow same. Details of this schedule will be published later. Many of the counties in South Carolina have already arranged for the tiyo prize winning ->oys to at- • tend this school.
