made by towb council to secure per
mission from Mrs. M. E. Glover
to use a strip of land on Railroad
Avenue “between Hampton and Cm-
streets, for the purpose of widening
the street. This strip wanted was
12 feet wide on Hampton street
and & feet wdie on Cam street.
Council offered Mrs. Glover ISOo
for this strip, and agreed to move
f* nee and the store building on
the corner. Mrs. Glover refused to
accept this and the metter was
carried to the higher court. I’ad-
. gett i.emacks & Moorer were em-
p'oyed by Mrs. Glover to represent
her ir the suit: M. P. Howell. Ks«j.,
re.msented the town of Walterbo-
ro.
A number of witnesses were ex
amined and the Jury examined the
property. A compromise verdict of
