Judging from the apearance of

cents the pound. It occurs to us
that a pair of shoes for the lit

piness to the homes of those whose
liquid shipments sre coming in.
There sre but few persons, if any,
who will doubt the guilt of some
of the offenders who have recently
been arraigned as violators of the
prohibition law. Yet there will be
a long drawn out legal battle over
technicnlitiee. All of this will .be
expereive md will serve further
to lessen the respect fqr law, and
caiise people to lose patience and
mete out puniehment themselves,
