We are convinced that the news
paper of Colleton has s great work
before it in the upbuilding of the
New Colleton we have heard so
much about recently. The bettor
the paper, the better the service. So
m appeal to our readers and the
hneinem public is not, after all. a
purely selfish one. There is a bus)-

manager can plan and think out
problems for the upbuilding of the

from which revenue comes in a
newspaper office—subscription, ad
vertising and job printing are the

widly scattered sources. Our sub
scriptions come from several states
and almost every county in this
State; our advertising comet from
all over the country, mostly from
Waiterboro; our job printing from
Colleton and adjoining counties. Tbs

pense of the . local newspaper, does
seat the cost of the county. The

DEATH tf JULIUS CMYAN.
Julius O Bryan died very suttoenly
at his home at Bolin, Fin., Thursday,
April 18. Bis remains were taken
to Stilmore, Go., for'interment.
Mr. O’Bryan was a about 86 years
old and was born and reared in
Colleton, near Hendersonville. Ho
was a son of the late J. G. O’Bryan.
He leaves s wife and mother. Mrs.
Josephine O’Bryan, of Henderson
ville, and the following brothers sad
sorters: Carlo*, of Moultrie, Fla.;
E. P., Judge and Horry, Mr*. Joe
O’Quin, Mim Lidia O’Bryan of Hen
dersonville, and Mrs. Willie Blocker
of near Waiterboro.
Stilmore, Go., is the home of the
wife of the deceased.
Julius was a pious and energetic
young man and stood well in this
county. _
