IN MtNOMIAM OF B. G. BENTOIt
At a meeting of the County Pen
sion Board, held on Tuesday January
31st 1911. the following Minute was
adopted by a unanimous rising vote.
‘‘Unde Ben Benton,” as we were
wont to call him our oldest charter
member, ie not with us to ’day. He
lies wrapped in his burial robes at
Peniei, near his home, where he se
lected his place of sepulture; having
received bis suumons to go up high
er and be at rest on January 10,
1911, just three days after he had
celebrated the 70th anniversary of
his naTal Day. surrounded hy a large
circle of relatives and friends.
We feel assured that he was ready
to depart. f<»r his life amid us so ex
emplified. For many years a mem
ber of tin; Baptist church, he took
great interest in the extension of
the Redeemed kingdom hy that
denomination, and indeed by all
others. This board has lost a valu
able member, one who was ever
earnest for the welfare of the Con
federate Soldier, having l»een one
himself during the whole War be
tween the States. True to his duties
in ail the relations of life, to his
family, to his country, to his friends,
to his (»od he has gone to receive
his reward!
”So earthly clinging.
So lingering gaze.
So strife at parting.
So sore amaze.
But sweetly gently.
He passed sway.
Prom the World’s dim twilight.
To endless day.”
Resolved. That a copy of above
Minute be sent to his afflicted fami
ly, as a token of our deep sympathy
for them, his great worth and ■ our
deep affection for him. and be pub
lished in The Press and Standard.

Garlands of the fern and smilax
were draped acroes the hall from
the dining room door to the
ceremony room. Fruit punch
was dispensed in the hall, the
pretty bowl being placed on a
table covered with a ’
tenberg cloth.
The room where the ceremony
was performed was particularly
pretty, the color 'scheme being
pink and green. Graceful gar
lands of smilax and fern were
suspended from the four corners
to the center, ending in a grace
ful cluster of the pink' chrysan

the corners and thp minister and

flowers. The altar was a bank
of the delicate asparagus fern.
The doorways and windows were
draped with vines and after the
i ceremony an informal reception
i was held and dainty refresh
ments were served, repeating
the color scheme of pink and
green. The members of the
Philathetartlass of the Center Hill
Sunday school, of which class the

serving.
Preceding the ceremony Mrs.
Wallace White sang “A Love
Song” (Lewis Brown,) and Miss
Mattie Lenfesty sang “The
Garden of Roses.” Miss Lizzie
Lenfesty played the accompani
ments to these lovely selections,
followed by the wedding march
from Lohengrin, the bridal
couple advancing down the
stairs together and taking their
places at the altar, where they
were met by Dr. Tims.
The bride was most dainty
and sweet in a wedding gown of
white silk, trimmed with dainty
lace. She carried a magnificent
shower bouquet of bride’s roses,
valley lilies and fern, tied with
long streamers of -white ribbon
and maline. The groom wore
conventional black.
The groom has prepared a
lovely home for his bride on the
Boulevard, and they went im
mediately home, where they will
welcome their friends in future.
The happy couple received
many handsome presents from
; relatives and friends, among
them being a beautiful silver
service from the Baraca class of
the First Presbyterian church.

Nervous
Prostration
'T suffered so with Nervous
Prostration that I thought there
was no use trying to get well. A
friend recommended Dr. Miles'
Nervine, and although skeptical
at first, I soon foun4 myself re
covering, and am to-dav well.”
MRS. D. I. JONES,
5*800 Broadway, Cleveland, O.
Much sickness is of nervous
Origin. It’s the nerves that
make the heart force the blood
through the veins, the lungs
take in oxygen, the stomach di
gest food, the liver secrete bile
and the kidneys filter the blood.
If any of these organs are weak,
it is the fault of the nerves
through which they get their
strength. Dr. Miles’ Nervine is
a specific for the nerves. It
soothes the irritation and assists
in the generation of nerve force.
Therefore you can hardly miss
it if you take Dr. Miles’ Nervine
when sick. Get a bottle from
your druggist. Take it all ac
cording to directions, and if it
does not benefit he will retura
your money.
