WEDNESDAJ. OCT. 19. 1910.
The County Fair, Nov. 8-11.
Ralph Bingham. Thursday, Oct. 20.

Cotton is King—Oreat is King
Cotton.
The big price goes a far way to
wards making up short crop of cot
ton.
You may have the biggest hog in
the county, but you will not know it
unless you take it to the Fair.
The parade of school children
should be the biggest event at the
Fair.
A NEW HOTEL.
We trust the building boom for
Walterboro will not end till a nice
brick hotel shall have been erected
at some central point in town. This
is one thing Ws’terboro needs and
needs badly. One hears traveling
men on all sides criticising Walter
boro on her lack of hotel accomoda
tions. and making unfavorable com
parisons. We trust such critics will
soon have cause to change their
tune to one of i*rai>e.
WAlter bo rd needs an up-to-date
hotel.

the town ol Ehrhardt for $1 which

was charged! for the privilt*ge of
posting these advertisements of the
Fair. This seems to us very remark
able, and we trust there is some
mistake about this matter. The
Fair Association doubtless does not
mind the dollar paid from a money
point of view’, but it is very much
surprised that a sister town should
feel this way about such an enter
prise as a (favor» to which it was irt-
viting the people of this growing
town to visit And participate in to
the mutual advantage of both towns.
The Dress and Standard regrets to
see such spirit exist and trusts there
has been some mistake made.
