Colleton county seems to have for gotten herself in the recent primary election, judging fromlthe votes cast for Blease and Cansler.. These men should not be voted for in this county. We expect better on Tues day, the 13th. manhood, crowned afith sobriety, and has always fought for ridding the state from its greatest curse— educator. Mr. Tate suggests that the county superintendent should be elected .by the county board of edu cation, just as the city superintend ent is elected by the city board; that be for four years; that the should be sufficient; that the board also have power to employ a supervisor of instruction; that the county toard should be em powered to levy a special county tax, not to exceed one mill, to support the supervision work. Undoubtedly Mr. Tate has opened the vitals of the rural school prob lem, the need for trained supervis ion.
