The officers of the League shall consist of a President, a vice president and a secretary, who may act as treasurer. These officers, with an executive committee, shall conduct tTie affairs and transact the business of the league. Sec. 2. The duties of these officers may at any time be prescribed by i.st and such organizations may and are urged to affiliate with the League. "Resolved further, That each county club appoint one member who will appear before the proper committee of the general assembly at its next session, and in union with the officers of the league, urge the enactment of this legislatien The Good Roads and Drainage League of South Carolina was organ ized at a good roads conven^on held in the City of Charleston July 12th,' 1910. Only delegates from lower Cirolina were invited to attend this “Gjod Roads Rally,” as it was term ed. Over two hundred and fifty- ladies and gentlemen from eighteen counties were present, and such was tie enthusiasm it was unanimously decided to organize the League, and to invite and urge all good roads or ganizations throughout the State to become members of the League and that league clubs be formed in every county as soon a^ possible. Resolu t ons were adopted by acclamation calling upon the geaeral assembly at its next session to enset laws provid ing for the immediate beginning of the construction of two or more main highways to bisect the State from the mountains to the sea- and from the western to the eastern borders.
