July 14 - There was a severe rain and thunder storm here last Friday afternoon, but the weather is much better now, and prospects are better. Jarvis Thompson of Ixxlge, visited relatives here last week. The Sunday school recently organ ized at this place • is progressing nieeiv. We are glad to see J T Warren i out attain after an illness of several datg. Miss Annie Grant is attending the protracted meeting at Drs. Creek this week. The social at Sylvestor Smoak’s on the 4th,«was a success in every particular. Mrs Blanchit Sanders and child ren, of Toogoodoo, visited Mr and Mrs Sylvester Smoak Saturday. Mrs Paul Crosby and mother, spent two days last week very pleas antly with Mrs I P Sauls. Mr and Mrs W Marshall spent last Monday at their home on Sterling. Miss Ethel *and Eula Price spent Sunday v^ry pleasantly at the home of C W Warren. George Glover of Walterboro has opened up business in the store form erly occupied by W N Larisey. Mrs John H Rodgers and son. of Lodge, are visiting relatives and friends at Hendersonville this week. Mr and Mrs W E O'Quin visited their father and mother Sunday. i Misses Alta and Maggie Marvin of this place are visiting relatives and friends in Charleston this week. We are sorry to learn of the ill ness of Charlie Ackerman, but hope to see him out again soon. Miss Lottie and Dons Speights have returned home from college to spend the holidays here with their parents. Little Herbert Gatch, son of Mr and Mrs C B Gatch. who was burn ed real badly a few weeks ago, is improving rapidly. An ice cream supper was enjoyed very much by the relatives and friends of Mrs J H O’Bryan, last Saturday night. Mr and Mrs Julius O’Bryan who are living in Florida now, spent a few days recently at this place. They returned home Wednesday. We are glad to know that Prof T V E’arrow will return to Hender sonville for the coming school term. D M Stanley of Savannah, has been visiting relatives and friends at this place recently.
