Pale-Faced Women
v
You ladies, who have pale faces, sallow complexions,
dark circles under eyes, drawn features and tired, worn-
out expressions, you need a tonic.
The tonic you need is Jardui, the woman’s tonic.
it is the best tonic tor women, because its ingredients
are specifically adapted for women’s needs. They act on
the womanly organs and help to give needed strength and
vitality to the worn-out womanly frame.
Cardtii is a vegetable medicine. It contains no min
erals, no iron, no potassium, no lime, no glycerin, no dan
gerous, or habit-forming drugs of any kind.
It is perfectly harmless and safe, for young and old to use.

This structure will be iHJ feet above
the ordinary level of the Roanoke
river, and there will be required in
its construction ulniut EaOOO cubic
^ yards of concrete and two thousand
tons of steel. There will be an ele

connecter! by a covered stairway
with a passenger station to be built
on the surface level of the Seaboard
Air Line track. B; gyage and ex
press will be conveyed to the Allan-1
tic Coast Line level by elevators. By
means of this viaduct all gradecross-
ings in the town of Weldon wilfbe
avoided. The work involves an en
tirely new line, but this will in no
wise affect the operation of trains. —

THE GOOD ROADS CAMPAIGN.
The Record’s good roads campaign
promises more extensive and benert-
O ■
•ciaJ results than ' the management
had anticipated. Through the ac-
t.vity and effectiveness of efforts
,PUt forth by Commissioner Watson,
heartily and promptly seconed by
Congressman I .ever, the United
States department of agriculture
has assigned one of the very best e> -
perts of the office of roads to this
campaign, and Mr. D. H Winslow',
superintendent of road construction,
'will accompany the good road* cam
paign party throughout the State.
This ensufes practical talks on good
roads, which will be worth the whole
expense of the campaign, i

gin. These are the subjects that
will be stressed at the good roads
campaign meetings, to be held 9 in
the respective county seats under
the auspices of The Record and the
count}* papers. It will be a veritable
campaign of education along practi
cal lines.
j
We are really sorry for the politi
cal campaigners, who will be eclipsed
by The Record’s campaign. Let
them »U get on the good roads band
wagon at the very tint meeting and

INStITUTES JULY 13,14. AND 15
The following letter from Supt l).
N. Barrow of the division of exten
sion work and farmers institutes of
Clemson College will l>e of interest
to the farmers of the county. It
will be seen that Supt Barrow can
give three days to Colleton, and of
course these dates will all be provid-
ed. This is very important w’ork
and there is not a farmer in the
county who should not attend at
least one of these institutes.
Clemson College, S. C.,
June 2J, 1910.
W. W. Smoak. VYalterboro, S. C.
Dear Sir: The dates fixed for the
holding of institutes in your county
is July 13th and 14th. Please let me
know the points at which it has been
determined to hold these institutes
just as promptly as possible. If
these dates are agreeable you can go
ahead and advertise the institute*.
It makes very little difference what
point comes first except that we are
to go up to Ehrhardt next. I have
allowed one day between Colleton
dates and the Ehrhardt meeting. It
the last Colleton date is within rea
sonable driving distance of Ehrhardt
this* will not be necessary, or we can
use this extra day in some othef way.
Let me hear from you as promptly
as possible.
Yours very truly,
D. N. Barrow,
Superintendent.
3 MONTHS FOR OFFERING DRINK.
Sumter, June 23.—The up-country
is not the only part of the world

severely punished.
In Sumter a man named Bill Dut

customer, according to Dutton’s
statement at the trial. The prohibi
tion law makes this a misdemeanor.
