• TO LEAVE FORT MILL.
The following clipping from the
Fort Mill Times will be of interest
to the many friends of .Mr. and Mrs.
McGregor in town:
The announcement that Mr. J. T.
McGregor and his excellent family
will leave Fort Mill on July 1 is a
source of much regret to their many
friends here. Mr. McGregor has
accepted the superintendency of the
Florence cotton mills at Forest CiTv.
N. C., and will assume the duties of
the position within the next ten
days. It is a splendid testimonial
to the ability of Mr.^McGregor as a
mill man that he should be entrust
ed with the direction of the affairs
of a manufacturing industry of the
magnitude of the Florence Mill*.

SETTIN’ \
A farmer was sawing wood, when
it occurred to him that he ought to
have the help <»f one or more of hi.s
five boys. Lifting up his voice, he
called, but not a boy appeared.
At dinner, of course, they all ap
peared, and it was not necessary to
call them.
“Where were you all about two
hours ago, w hen I wanted you and
shouted for you?”
“I was in the shop, settin’ the
saw,” said one.
“And I was in the barn, settin’ a
hen,” said the second,
“I was in gran’ma’s room, settin’
the clock,” said the third.
“I was in the garret, settin’ the
trap,” said the fourth.
“You are a remarkably set!” re
marked the father. “And where
were youl^’ he continued, turning to
the youngest.

RICHARD P- BAILEY DEAD.
Monday, June 13, we were pained
to learn that our dear brother,
Richard P Bailey, had passed away
on Sunday night, June J2, at the
State Asylum. Those who knew
him will say he has gone to rest for
he was afflicted from childhood with
convulsions.
His mother, who eared for him a-
she would have an infant, will miss
him. He was .‘5o years, three
months and one day old. He had
been at the asylum for treatment
*ince March 18, PHIS, having entirely
lost his mind.
His remains were brought to his
old home and laid to rest beside
his loved ones jn Bethel Cemetery.
The funeral services were conducted
by Rev B R I’lmer.
Though grieve for him we
know he has gone to rest with his
Savior in that great beyond, where
we will meet to part no more.
