UP TO OUR JURORS. Much is being said over the eour- try just now about the kind of jury service being given by jurors in the discharge of their duties. A great deal of this is not complimentary to the individual juror, or the juty system in general. This is due to munerous miscarriages of justice in the trial of cases. Criminals are ac quitted when they should be convict ed, and so much is done in violation of justice and a proper penalty for the acts of persons guilty of crime that it is getting to be commonly talked that justice is never done in oar courts. Now the remedy for this lies stfthe door of the jurors, both grand and petit, and other court officials. This passing on the question of the guilt or innocence of the accused is a responsible duty for a juror, and a most honorable office to perform. Knowing this, and believing in maintaining the honor and integrity t of our courts of justice, we trust our jurors and court officials, from lowest to highest, will not allow any verdict at this term of court for Colleton county, that will reflect upon its integrity. Crime must be suppressed. There is too much disregard paid to established law and order in this county, and it is the function of our courts to cor rect this growing disregard for the rights of others. Let our jurors sericously consider their oaths, and do their full duty towards making a respect for all law in this county.
