The Mt Carmel Epworth Leigue Literary Society was held at the home of C E Carter Saturday night, A very interesting prograjn, consist ing of recitations, was carried out by Marie Ueach, Pantomine, “Old Black .Iftc” oy Alice Sykes, Kathe- rene Fogartie and Jennie Lnwh-r. Music turniskied bf 1'earl Beach. Debate—Kesolved that women have more to do than men. Aflirmativ?, Jetl Padgett and Walter Linder .Negative, Walpti Linder and Furman Beach. The judges decided in favor of the affirmative. Botli sides spoke well. Little MUs .Jewel Paul, who has been visiting relatives ueai Stokes, will return to hei home in Savannah Wednesday, accompanied by Mrs E Beach. Miss Mane Bitter will leave to morrow for her home near Kilter. ^ Miss Netta Bishop of Islaoton, has been with friends and relatives around here for Isome time, but re* turned to her home Saturday. B N Beach and daughter, Miss Claudia, paid Mrs J M Campbell of Williams* a flying visit last Saturday. Furman Beach paid Savannah a flying trip last week. Lonnie Carter and sister, Miss Minnie, attended the Children’s Day at Doctor’s Creek Sunday. Miss Minnie was on her way to Belli, where she will visit her oousin, Mrs Warren. We axe glad to see Mrs J F Fogar tie out again after a confinement to her room of 15 days. Little Miss Marie Cone of Ritter ( is visiting her sister, Mrs E. B. Way! A number of girls and JMrs Elvira Beach attended the birthday dinner of the latter’s brother-in-law Satur day near Evergreen. Miss Pollie Kinard, who has been very ill for sometime, is still very ill. We hope for her a speedy recovery. 3. N.
