what do you propose to do? Are you
satisfied to remain out of tie union
and as Hon E D Finley Congressman
from the fifth congressional district
stated before our state convention at
Hock Hill; “Let not only the Rural
service, but the entire postal service
•after? I hope not. Lets brioff th;
words and the spirit of* the immortal
Prick Hepry into plsy, “Forbid it
Almighty God.”
There are now forty thousand, six
hundred thirty seven rural routes in
operation in the United States, served
by forty thousand five hundred eight
cairiers. Six hundred sixty eight of
these are served bat three times each
week. The remainder of the routes
have daily service except Sunday.
Now Gentlemen do you think
Unde Sam expects this great mass of
carriers to deliver and collect the
mad of the millions of people when
Ebay come in contact with on their
TOates? If you do, the writer of this
does not. in my opinion our duties
resoh far beyond this. If we are to be
considered up-to-date carriers, we
should use every faculty in an en
deavor to improve the service.
We should be kind and courteous
We should be prompt and busines*
like; we should familiarize ourselves
with the postal laws snd regulations,
which govern the R. F. 1). service, in
order that we might be equal to any
.occasion that may confront up. And
'last, but not least, we should be
ardent advocates of good roads, as
good roads are essential to the im
jprovement of the service.
The greatest thing that our govern
ment is doing for the people of the
rural distrusts, is delivering their
.maihto them at their doors. Gives

and I’ll point you out a good citizen,
and good citizens are the basement

nation of which we can so justly
boast
Now boys one more word and I’m
through. You have been called
through the medium of the county
paper by Mr Paul K Crosby, presi
dent of the R L C A of this county
to meet him at the court house in
Walterboro 8 C on Saturday night,
Sept 4th at an hour will be
designated by him I/et’s all turn out
and try hard, through our upiou to
influence the Legislator* of. this
county and state at their next setting
to proclaim al» roads travelled by
rural routes as public roadi, as it is
now the case iu Tennessee and Ala
l»ama. If ie can succeed in this our
achievements will be great and our
efforts not in vain.
Yours for better R F 1> Service,

Nervous
Collapse
“I have traveled for thirty
years continually. 1 lost a g;reat
deal of sleep, which together
with constant worry left me in
such a nervous state that finally,
after having two collapses of
nervous prostration, I was
obliged to give up traveling al
together. I doctored continually
but with no relief. Dr. Miles’
Nervine came to my rescue—I
cannot describe the suffering
which this Nervine saved me.
Whenever 1 am particularly
nervous a few doses relieve me.”
A. G. C. LIBBY, W ells, Me.
There are many nervous
wrecks. There is nervous pros
tration of the stomach, of the
bowels, and other organs The
brain, the kidneys, the liver, the
nerve centers are all exhausted.
There is but one thing to do—
build up the nervous system by
the use of Dr. Miles’ Restora
tive Nervine. Its strength
ening influence upon the nerv
ous system restores normal
action to the organs, and
they all work in harmony, health
is assured. Get a -bottle from
your druggist. Take it all ac
cording to directions, and if it
does not benefit he will return
your money.

Walterboro, S. C„ October 9, 1908.
On August 30, ’08, I contacted cold and developed Grippe and
was laid up fiive weeks. My bronchial tubes were badly aif-
m . e continually and prevented
fected, which caused me to cougn continually
my sleeping at night. I tried all the old remedies which usually
gave me relief but failed.
Johnson’s Chill and Fever Tonic was recommended to me as a
guaranteed cure for grippe and colds and I was purseaded to
try it. After taking it according to directions for one week, I
found myself entirely cured of my cold and grippe, and my sys-
tem in first-class condition. I regard it as one of the best medi-
K cines I have ever used ir my family and can cheerfully recom-
