Fannie was six years ;ind four month old. Little Fannie’s de parture came at nine o’clock, and yd at twelve, only three hours lif- nce. Oh what a sad parting it for the parents. Though the passing days will never dim their memory or lessen the sorrow of tl ose two loved ones, they were bright lov able children their sweet dispssi ion and sweet smiles made the home s pleasure to those around them, but their little voices are far beyond our hearing now. All was done for them that medical skill and loving hands and hearts could do, but when thr sad time came, it was so hard to pan with thos* little ones so dearly lov»-d, but God knows best, and one gr^a* consolation to bear in mind is tha> we can meet them again, at the go'den gate of Heaven, where they will wait and beckon thorn dear little hands for thorn who are left behind, to come, fast before the time of parting they called their mother to them and said; “Mama 1 am going home,” Yea, the home of rest, where there are no more partings bat safe in the arms of Jesus where no more pain can enter. The interment was at Black Creek Cemetery in the pretence of a great number of relatives and friends. Rev J P Graham, made many tonching remarks over the dear little onee. A sumptuous dinner was served at one o'clock, after which the quilters went back to work and soon finished their quilt. It was called “The World’s Wonder or PuzzJe,” being made of beautiful bright patches. Among the good quilters present were: Mesdames Elvira Beach, Vaughn Prine, Misses Bessie Jones, Mattie Herndon, Lottie Iliers. Miss Hiers proved lo be the champion needle breaker. Lucky Girl. The Sunday school picnic at Shiloh Baptist church last Friday was a very enjoyable aflair. There were not Ins than seven hundred persons present who enjoyed the good speeches and the sumptuous dinner served at the noon hour. The Meeting was presided over by the Baperiatendent, Mr Connelly, who intradnoed the speakers. Rev C W Bargees was the first speaker and took for his subject! “The Soul Winner in the Sunday School.” He Was followed by J P Graham whose addreai was on Sunday school work. Mr Graham was at his best and held the undivided attention of the audience. The next speaker was Sen J S Gnfiiu of Walterboro whose- theme was the development and imprve- ment of the Sunday school. The Senator w as in a section *rh£re he has numerous friends and was compli mented on his speech. The last speaker was Rev B F Halford, the pastor in charge of this church, who spoke alter dinner. Rev Halford is popular in this seen-n and is doing a good work for the church here. Cor. DOTS fROM SMOAKS- Smoaka, Aug. 21.—Special: As I have not been in a long time 1 wilf come again.
