DEATH OF AN INFANT. On July 9th. Little-Herbert Crosby, son of Mr.' and Mrs. J. M. Crosby, passed away, at the a<;e of one year and twenty-one days. The funeral service was con ducted by Rev. C. \V. Burgess, and his remains were laid to rest in the Bethel Cemetery. HOUSE PARTY AT ADAMS RUN. Adams Rur, July 2li. Special: The little village of Adams Run has lieen joyous of late, on account of a house party, given by Miss Bes sie Barnwell, in honor of her Win- throp friends. Those participating were: Misses Jessie Rivers, of Rock Hill; Edith Oliver, of Buena Vista, (ia; Edith Pnrcher, of Mount Pleas ant: Ollie Wit-sell, of Charleston, and Bessie Bollinger, of Hendersonville; Messrs Donald utyl William W. All- stori, Douglas Grigory, Theodore Fitzsimmons, John and Frank Barn well. One of the most enjoyable features of.the house party was a trip to Rockville, to the Confederate Re union and dance, this treat lie ing given to the visiting young ladies by the young men of the house party. Miss Barnwell has furnished for her guests numerous and novel forms of amusement, among which are dancing on her wide, airy porch, drives, launch rides and last, hut not least, moonlight tete-tetes on the lawn swings of the picturesque groves at the front. , The party expects to be present at the Rockville and James Island races in August.
