About ten o’clock, when they
all had arrived, they began
making lemonade and ice cream,
and after all had eaten heartily
of these good things, a long table
was prepared in the yard beneath
the beautiful spreading oaks.
The table was laden with all
kinds of good things to eat, and
they tasted good too. The menu
consisted of chickens, fried,
stewed and baked, ham, and veg
etables, cakes and pies too
numerous to mentiou, along with
other good things.
After dinner we had music and
singing. Miss Etta Hudson and
Mrs A W Hudson presided at the
organ. Visitors came in the
afternoon which added to the en
joy ment. We all left about sun
down, hoping that this honorable
old gentleman will witness mauy
o
mere such pleasant days.
