A FISH AND ASHTON S PER

eager to tieh. H-fore the aun lighted
the East, numbers were wending their
way to Barnes’ Like. By nine
o'clock “each laddie had his lassie”,
it matierd little whether they were
in boats, land or where, for wnerever
the baited hook fell there waa a nib-
b'e, a bite or a Hsh. No one
pr?seut to>k time to enumerate
the -number ol^ fish captured.
As one lady expressed it a bushel of
tish were cooked f*r dinner, and some
tDok home enough to last two cays;
therefore “Wild Bill’s” meat bill wai
reduced.

When all formality is dispensed,—
fathers, motheif, baches' and “even
spinsters become ar children, inno

true day’s outing.
l>o you ask if the good housewivn
depended on husbands for the din
ner’s meats to be tish? Ah, no, we
love them and have all confidence in
them and their skill, but rest assured
hams, beef, chickens, bread, sweets,
ices, fruits, etc. were in the menu.
Boating was one of the most enjoy
able features of the day. Can any
riding surpass a boat ride in agquiet
shady lake with a more than pleasant
('?) companion? 1 would that all of
life were such sailing. A dip and
swim were also on the program. I
do not intend to weary the good
readei. Indulge with us some, for
w hen wfe have a good time I love to
tell you and likewise enjoy sharing
yours. We must have another tish at
Barnes’ l>ake.
