Quite a number of the young folk of this place attended the picnic at Penile and report a pleasant time. Mr and Mrs H A Cummings, ot Lodge, visited relatives near Island- ton a few days ago. Married on May 19th, at the home of the bride’s father, Mr George Crosby, Min Carey Crosby to Nathan Godley. Their many friends wish for them a long and happy life. Our school has not long closed, which was taught with success by T B Caldwell. We hope to have him to teach our school next term. An entertainment was given Dy the school, which was enjoyed by a large crowd piesent Many were hindered from attending on account of the inclemency of the weather. The school house being small, the exercises were held in the lower story of the W 0 W Building. The stage was decorated with wreaths of roses and evergreens. Special:— We are having some very nice weather and the farmers ate doing fine with their crops. Mr Loney Padgett and wife of Colleton paid a pleasant visit to Isham Padgett at Hampton. Mieses Mabel, Fnth and Debie Dempsey spent Snnday last with Mrs Isham Padgett, who has her sister from Colleton on a visit to her.
