Lodge, .Nov. 3; Special:-The forty-sixth anriversity of the Col leton Baptist Association which met at Carters Ford on Friday, October 23rd, was the best ever held. The officers were re-elected to serve anether year. F. 0. S. Curtis, Moderator, J. S. Griffin, Clerk, Joseph Langdaie, Treasurer. Nearly all the churches were repre sented by delegation or by letter. Rev. W. T. Derieux preached the missionary sermon. He preached from Revelations 3:20 "Behold, 1 stand at the door and knock, if any man hear my voice, and open the door. I will come unto him and will sup with him. and he with me". After the sermon a collection was taken up. which amounted to $00, This was for State Missions. W. W. Keys, editor of The Bap tist Courier, was present at our meeting Friday and Saturday, work ing in the interest of his paper. He spoke on several subjects which were brought before the Association. We think everybody that attend- -edthe Association enjoyed it very m«rcn. Dinner was spread on the grounds, and everything passed off nicely all through the meeting, and I think it will be remembered as a pleasant and profitable meeting by all. We are very sorry to state the illness of C. F. Caldwell, also of Charlie Caldwell. We hope for them a speedy recovery. W. W. Hiers was in Walter boro last week on business. Mrs. C. C. Rentas is visiting her daughter. Mrs. W. C. Biant of Suiders. Well Mr. Editor, the farmers are all about finished gathering in their cotton and corn and are now rapidly gathering their peas and potatoes, and a few of them age putting in their fall crops. 1 don’t think any body has begun to grind cane, but when we do begin, yon must come up and join in with us in our "stick ing work" and fun.
