BY EDWIN R. WEEKS.
At the recent Lyceum attraction
the following sctpur was comj)osed
and sun# by Mr. Weeks: greatly to
the delight of the audience.
1 came tonight with songs and jokes.
T ^e these Walterboro folks,
ii gives my heart a thrilling cheer
To 9 r 'c you ail assembled here.
For thred times now I’ve made the
vun.
In fact, like Bryan, I’ve become.
But there's no place I’d rather come
Than here to W r alterboro.
Now there was Teddy with rod and
..run
WTr. ent out West to have some
fun
In shooting bears and hunting deer.
He could have done as well right
here.
! w’-h’d I had my gun tonight
J a »urely take a shot all right.
For see the dear young dears in
sight
Right here in Walterboro.
We came from Green Bond on the
cars.
Wo got our jolts and jerks and jars,
’Twas there we had three hours
to wait
And then we had to come by freight.
‘TwasCapt. Blanchard brought the
trouiH*.
1 feel as though we’d looped the loop
But still my spirits never droop
W'h»n I’m in Walterboro.
Yon love the town so, every one,
That when your race on earth is run,
Aim up to heaven your w ay is shown,
St, iVter’II chain you to the throne.
Yes, chain you with a g<HHi strong
chain,
4 * r • ou’ll all rufh back here again,
For Heaven, you know, is really
tame
