COTTAGEVIIXE TOPICS.
Oct. 19.—As I have not
seen anything from our little
town, for quite a while thought
I would give you a few dots:
Our farmers here are in good
spirits, and seem to be in a
thriving prosperous condition.
The high school here is in
a flourishing condition under
the able management of Prof.
J. C. Spann of Batesburg, as
principal, and Miss Daisy Ed
wards as assistant, we pre
dict for them a very successful
school term.
Quite a number of our young
people from here have gone to
schools, and colleges dn differ
ent places.
Master Rosser Smith has
gone to Wofford College. He
is a very bright student.
Miss Belle Ackerman com
pletes her college course at
the Cedar .Spring Institution
this year.
Miss Ruth Pierce is attend

It might be interesting to
note that she has also sent out
in the last twenty years, fifteen
