THE 11. S. DEBATING SOCIETY.
Smoaks, Oct. 8th—Special: The
muting of the Buck head Debating
Society, which was held on Saturday
afternoon, waa of more th .n ordinary
interest. The splendid work which
the society is doing was shown by
the large number who w.re present
and the interest which was taken in
the debate. The query, “Resolved.
That money has been more profitable
than than friends,"' was war ml v ar
gued. Messrs. Jos. Johnson and
J.J. Jones for the affirmative and
Messrs. J. Kulton He.udon and
O. W. Lyons for negative had their
respective p; rts well in hand and
kept the interest of the listeners
throughout The Judged awarded
the debate to the negative.
The society has cone excellent
work and the future promises to see
even a better record. Each member
has the interest of the society at
heart and takes pride in seeing that
each part is carried ont to the best of
their abilitf.
