On Sunday, August 2nd, 1908, the
gen tie spirit of littl# Bruce Fisk
winged its flight to the God who
gave it. He was the eldest son of
Mr and Mrs P W Fisk, and was born
October 7th, 1901 He has left with
his grief stricken parents the sweet
assurance that h» is now with the
Saviour, arid the sustaining hope
that if they live aright they will
meet him. again in the Land of Light,
in the presence of the King. We
tha-k God for his life, brief though
it was.
Sleep oh, dear Bruce, and take thy
rest,
For in Jesus I know you are forever
blest.
Only a bird! and a vagrant boy
Fits a pebble »ith boyish skill
,lnto the folds of a supple sling.
"Watch me hit him. I can and I
will.”
Whirr! and a silence chill and sad
Falls like a pall on the vibrant air.
From a birchen tree, whence a
shower of song
Has fallen in ripples everywhere.
Only a bird.

E T H Shaffer Return*
E. T. H. Shaffer, the junior
member of the firm of Terry £
Shaffer, returned the 7th inst. from
an extended trip through most of the
countries of Europe. Mr Shaffer
tas been "doing Europe'* for the
past two months, and has had a
most delightful trip. His wander
ings took him through the Strait of
Gibralter, the Mediteranean Sea,
Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France
England and other countries. He
talks most interestingly of what he
tas seen and has promised to con
tribute a series of articles to this
paper, describing his travels, which
will be read with a great deal of
interest by all of our readers. Mr,
dhaffer is much rested and improved,
physically, by his trip.
